New owner of Yellow Bellied Sliders

Post by Neilos » Sat Sep 17, 2016 12:34 am

Hi, I have recently taken on two yellow bellied slider turtles which have lived in a glass aquarium for the last four years. The turtles have outgrown the aquarium, I am looking into the possibility of introducing them to my pond and hope to seek advice from anyone who has done likewise. I would also like to get some advice regarding best food - my turtles have been reared on a diet of cat food and carrots up until now. I am trying out alternatives with poor results.

Hello and welcome to the site and forum :)

Firstly, good work on the rescues, sounds like it was non-too-soon! I'm working through your posts so will answer your main questions there, but the pond question depends on where you are (I see you mention London, is that still the case?), and what garden space you have available. Also depends on whether you can dig in your pond, or is it going to be sat on patio / decking / etc...?
