breeding diamondbacks

Post by redfoot man » Sun Jan 06, 2013 4:58 pm

Its that time of year again !
My little male DBT is charging round his pond, you almost hear him panting,he can't see the girls, may be he smells them,he knows something is happening.
I place a female in the water ,he's waiting ,before I step away ,he's by her side doing the love dance,we've seen it many times.is he or is'nt he ?
Then breath held, we watch, this is it, here we go,
She trys to bite he's head off, this does'nt put him off but it does me !
He has a scare on his tail that took well over 18 months to heal up from an encounter with a lady friend of his !
He does manage it with 2 of the smaller girls, but I fear he is still too small,I can only hope, you just can't give up ,will keep you lot posted

Great news!!

Mine all seem to be very slow at the moment, hopefully when spring starts it'll fire the breeding hormones up!

Fingers crossed for some fertile eggs! ~fn-hdbng
