Indoor pond

Post by Selene and Luna » Sat Nov 24, 2012 2:25 am

Am wanting to build a indoor pond for my two the only problem is my whole
house is floor boards and im worried about the weight of a pond on the floor
has anyone done a pond with floor boards and if so did you have to
reinforce the floor or was it ok with the weight
also some pic's of peoples indoor ponds would be great to give me some ideas

You would need to have a shallower, wider pond ideally, but knowing the age of the house would help. A well built Victorian house would probably cope with several hundred kilo's just fine, especially positioned against a supporting wall, but a modern thrown up cheap build could well have issues with all but the smallest indoor pond without reinforcement

If it's a stone or red clay brick build that should indicate it's not to modern a building (unless you have an expensively built house a modern house would be concrete brick not clay) .
