Looking good - but if you're putting common musks in there - do you need the heater?

Also - assuming the water depth will reach to the top of the filter - there doesn't seem to be a place for them to haul out and bask.

Bearing in mind they're not the best swimmers either - you might want to put in sub aquatic ledges at different levels

No heater - they're temperate species - keep at room temp

Good for the turtle and good for your leccy bill ~lgh-smil

It's great that you haven't got a lid on the tank - I reckon if you put a "dock" just above the tallest piece of your decorations he'll be able to "climb - swim" up to it.

You could angle the filter to ensure it all stays underwater.

There'll be many folk that will tell you that an internal filter and not a bare bottomed tank is a bad idea - you'll find out yourself!

Personally - the internal filter got binned very quickly in favour of a decent external one - (that's something the pet shops won't tell you as it has £ implications)

As for natural v bare bottomed tanks - that depends on how much work and water changes you're prepared to do.

By the way - while you're waiting for the bad weather to pass - have you considered mooching around for a rehomer rather than going to the pet shop? ~fn-hdbng

I was told that I needed a heater lol So what temperature will be ok for Musk Turtles? The water will be in there for about 4 days before I get my turtles so will reach room temperature -

I was told the Fluval U2 filter was the best which is why I got it

Now im being told different

So Ive bought what I was TOLD to buy and now im being told different? Thats why I joined a forum so I wouldnt waste my money ! Which I have clearly done. ~ang-tant

hi damita.
can i just add to the other comments, when you add your basking dock, you need to aim both the basking light and the uv light onto the basking area.
i totally agree with hendrix that the internal filter wont do a very good job for you, externals are def the best, but all in all,its looking good. ~fn-hdbng .
