Thats very neat Mike, a man after my own heart. What sealant did you use and how did you prepare the surface.

This post has been dug up from the past, but the tank is still going strong.

I can't remember the name of the sealant but can find out. I remember it was very stiff to apply and was cheaper than some of the black tank and pond sealant I see locally going for about £14. I also used in on a home made pond filter, really good stuff. I used white spirit or meths to clean off the acrylic before and after.

The 2mm acrylic has cracked quite badly where I have used clamp lamps. It is time to upgrade the tank so will likely be doing the same again with 4mm acrylic and add some sort of protection under the clamps this time.

Another great idea, this forum is so informative and helpful and at the same time dangerously influential.
