These guys are a good shape and in good condition from what I can see.
I have a western similar to the smallest here. I can never get a consistently decent shell, one end or the other is always ready for a shed and therefore a bit dull.
Any shell secrets you'd like to pass on?

I just have well filtered water (large external filter), a 100w MVB over the basking area and a varied diet based around a quality pellet. Thanks for the comments, they are rescues and this is how I got them:
After several weeks:
Most westerns I've seen have a green-brownish carapace with yellow squiggles. It's only recently that shes shown some of these markings (under the right light), just after she had shed the old crud off the shell underneath was plain black for ages. As I've had the little one since a small hatchling, I'm hoping I can grow it into a nice large and vivid example!

You've done a great job with these.
Which MVBs do you use?

I use Arcadia's 100W self-balasted MVB. A good quality bulb that seems to give a nice wide spot and even basking temps.
I've also got a male map I've had since he was the size of a 50p (over 7 and a half years ago!), and while he's special because of this, I am a little crazy for painteds!
