Identification

Post by karenmb3 » Thu Jan 30, 2014 10:02 pm

Can anybody identify this terrapin please, we bought it today and the guy in the pets shop had it in a normal fish tank setup with cold water and he said it would be fine living in cold water. After doing some research prior to going we were expecting to be buying filters heat-lamps and such like. Totally confused now and any advice would be greatly accepted.

Hello and welcome to the site and forum :)

You have a Ouachita Map by the look of it (certainly a map ssp though), too young to tell gender though. Check out the Map Care Sheet
0.1.0 - Chelydra serpentina
*.*.* - Graptemys ouachitensis
*.*.* - Pseudemys concinna
*.*.* - Pseudemys nelsoni
*.*.* - Trachemys scripta elegans
*.*.* - Trachemys scripta scripta
