Post by varanerd » Fri Nov 15, 2013 8:28 pm

Hi Folks,

This is the only pic I have right now but will be able to get more tomorrow if needs be?

Cheers

By the way, if it helps - I am thinking Chelodina seibenrockii.

Thanks Steve, I was 90% but I am not as knowledgeable on my sidenecks as I could be.
She's currently turning down everything except for locusts as food (this is what the guy had been feeding her on)
She was nearly interested in an earth worm but it lost its appeal after a bite. I am going to grab her some aquatic snails, trying to think of ways to sneak calcium in her... got a piece of cuttlefish in there floating about but I don't think she has bothered with it yet.
Any high calcium tasty treats you guys use?

The aquatic snails (if they last long enough) will eat the cuttlefish which will help a little, but otherwise it's mostly a case of gut-loading live foods of making a "turtle pudding" with enough smell / taste to get it eaten, and as much nutrition as you can cram in :)
0.1.0 - Chelydra serpentina
*.*.* - Graptemys ouachitensis
*.*.* - Pseudemys concinna
*.*.* - Pseudemys nelsoni
*.*.* - Trachemys scripta elegans
*.*.* - Trachemys scripta scripta
