Injured terrapin

Post by Terry the terrapin » Mon Jun 15, 2015 8:10 pm

hi, I have a red eared terrapin, which he is only young (not sure actual age) however he was in the garden and the lid came of his tank and was attacked by what I presume was a bird and his left leg has swollen, there is a gash from his shell to his leg on the joint. He does not seem to be bothered by this till I looked at it, he dosent use it or retract it into his shell any advice on what to do please and thank you ~cry-wtry ~cnf-dunno

Right, let's start with some basics, where about do you live (countryside or town), what sort of size is he, do you have any pics, and what is the tank like you have for him? Sounds like a vet trip is in order, but depending on where you are it may be difficult to find a specialist, and potentially expensive when if it's not too bad, it could heal itself. Pics will really help give a better idea though!
